In July of 2023, we had the honor of replacing the roof of American Legion's 8 story HQ in Washington, DC, just a couple blocks from The White House.
When American Legion contacted us, they had a significant leak. Their flat roof was previously patched, but clearly at the end of its lifespan.
We handled several project challenges to ensure a successful outcome:
1. Height & Safety
An 8 story building in an active city environment requires certain safety procedures. To ensure the safety of our crew, a safety manager was onsite daily and we erected a temporary safety fence around the roof line.
2. Material Delivery
Our access point for material delivery was by crane in an alley used by other businesses. A crane permit was obtained and material was delivered during an early Saturday morning to ensure no disruption to business traffic.
3. Employee Mindfulness
We worked closely with staff at American Legion to minimize disturbance. Roofing is a big messy job, but adequate planning ensured our presence was considerate and Legion's staff was minimally affected.
4. Warranty
It's risky for companies hire a roofing contractor to undertake a large roofing project without being certain of a successful and long-lasting outcome.
For American Legion, we filed a No Dollar Limit 20 Year Warranty backed by Mule-Hide Products. A representative from Mule-Hide also visited the job site at multiple stages to certify our work. The Legion team is now confident in their properly installed Leak-Proof roofing system with a manufacturer backed 20 year warranty.
